Staten Island Expressway Bus/HOV Lane Extension Project

The Staten Island Expressway (SIE) is an Interstate highway (I-278) connecting Jew Jersey on west via the Goethals Bridge with Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island on the east via the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and the Gowanus Expressway and Belt Parkway. The SIE is a significant conduit for express bus service and is a major truck route. The area between Slosson Ave. and Victory Blvd. was improved to include extension fo the existing Bus/HOV lane in the Expressway median, construction of auxiliary lanes in both directions, removal of an abandoned interchange, shifts to the alignment and improvement o safety conditions along the corridor.
