345 KV Underground Transmission Line – Stratford to Bridgeport, CT
Part of a large power transmission line extending from Middletown to Norwalk, and owned by the United Illuminating Company, this project consisted of a 5.6 mile section of underground electrical lines running through eighteen two-part splice chambers from Bridgeport to Stratford, Connecticut. From the Singer splice in Bridgeport to the west bank of the Housatonic River in Stratford, the project presented numerous challenges relating to coordination with existing underground utilities and changed site conditions.
